Chew Toys for Calm, Focused Play

In this article

Not every moment with your dog has to be a game. A chew toy can turn a restless afternoon into calm, focused time.

Chew Toys for Calm, Focused Play

A chew toy gives your dog something steady to do. Instead of pacing or looking for something to chew on, they settle in with a toy of their own.

A filled toy adds a little reward, so it is something your dog looks forward to.

It helps to make the chew toy part of a pattern. When the toy comes out after exercise, your dog learns that it is time to settle in, and the pattern makes quiet time easier for both of you.

A Quiet Chew Routine

After a walk or a play session, hand over a filled chew toy and let your dog settle. The Molar Chew Toy, Corn Dog Chew Toy and Crocodile Dog Chew Toy can all be filled with kibble, peanut butter or treats.

Pair It With Active Play

Calm time works best after active time. Try a chase game with a USB Vibrating Ball Toy first, then bring out the chew toy. For the full chew toy range read my guides to dog toys for aggressive chewers and chew toys for puppies.

Picking the Right Chew Toy for Quiet Time

For a small or medium dog, the Molar Chew Toy and the Corn Dog Chew Toy are listed as a good fit. For a larger dog, try the Crocodile Dog Chew Toy. Keep the toy for quiet moments so it feels special.
