What Slow Feeder Bowls Are Made Of

In this article

You read the listing twice and still cannot tell what the bowl is made of. A good slow feeder should be easy to understand before it reaches your kitchen.

What Slow Feeder Bowls Are Made Of, and Why Listings Skip It

Picture a shopper with a phone in hand, scrolling past "premium material" and "high quality" with no material named. A slow feeder might be moulded plastic, silicone, ceramic or steel, and the listing often says nothing.

That is a small gap with a big effect. You use the bowl every day, so it is fair to want to know what it is.

Why the Material of a Slow Feeder Bowl Matters

The material decides how a bowl feels and behaves at home: how it is shaped, whether it slides, and how it holds up to daily use. Two bowls with the same maze can feel very different in the kitchen.

It also tells you whether the seller is being open with you. A named material, a clear size and a care note are all good signs.

What Petsun Slow Feeder Bowls Are Made Of

I designed these Premium slow feeder bowls, and they are made from PLA, a plant-based bioplastic. PLA is made from plants such as corn or sugarcane.

Bowls like the Cedar Night Design and the Maple Leaf Design use that material for a durable build, with a maze base that slows gulping and reduces mess. Colour pigments are added, so I describe the material as PLA, a plant-based bioplastic, and nothing more.
