Dining Station for Multi-Pet Homes

In this article

Picture this: Nina's kitchen in Vancouver has two very different diners: Milo, a Golden Retriever who inhales dinner, and Pepper, a grey tabby who likes to take her time.

Why Multi-Pet Homes Need a Different Dining Station

Milo's bowl was empty in under a minute, and Pepper preferred to graze. Nina had a steel bowl for him, a ceramic saucer for her and a water dish that someone always tipped over.

In a multi-pet home the same bowl rarely suits everyone. Different sizes, different eating speeds and different needs all share one patch of floor.

Building a Dining Station for Multi-Pet Homes

Give each pet their own Modular Pet Dining Station Base. It comes in Medium (250 x 250 mm) and Large (400 x 400 mm), and the sliding system lets you fit the modules each pet needs.

Milo gets a Slow Feeder Bowl Module to slow gulping and a Water Bowl Module. Pepper gets a Lick Mat Module for a calmer meal, and a Whisker Relief Bowl Module if she hesitates at deep bowls. Modules come in Medium (125 x 125 mm) and Large (200 x 200 mm).

Starting Simple and Adding Later

You do not have to build everything at once. The Medium Bundle and Large Bundle come ready to go, and the system expands as your pets' needs change. For cats and small dogs, the Dining Station for Cats and Small Dogs combines a slow feeder, a lick mat and a water bowl in one piece.

Next, read the main modular dining station guide, learn about whisker fatigue in cats or decide with lick mat vs slow feeder module which module to add first. My cat puzzle feeder guide has more for cats.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does each pet need its own dining station? Each pet usually has their own base, with modules chosen for them. That keeps every pet's setup right for their size and eating style.

Can a large dog and a cat use the same system? Yes. Choose a Large base for the dog and a Medium base for the cat, with different modules on each.

Can I add modules later? Yes. The system is designed to expand and rearrange as your pets' needs change.
